A resident of Port Allen, he died at 8:25 p.m. Monday, May 2, 2011, at Baton Rouge General Hospice. He was 62 and a retired employee of Wilson Distributors of Baton Rouge. Memorial visitation with the family at New Mount Olive Baptist Church, 1187 Rosedale Road, Port Allen, Saturday, May 7, from 11 a.m. until memorial service at noon, conducted by the Rev. Michael Byrd. He is survived by his wife of 22 years, Orleal L. Jackson; three daughters, Lisbon M. Jackson, of Brusly, Kristen L. Jackson and Dealka S. Jackson, both of Port Allen; son and daughter-in-law, Vexter and Charmaine Stewart, of Baton Rouge; stepdaughter, Shantel Vallery, of Atlanta; mother, Hannah Harrison; three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Joyce J. Lotten and Violet and Curtis Haynes, all of Baton Rouge, and Rose and Joseph Saxton, of Walla Walla, Wash.; aunt, Starry Taylor, and uncle, Jeff Solomon, both of Port Allen; mother-in-law, Geraldine Lamark, of Baton Rouge; two godchildren, nine grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Milton Jackson Sr.; four uncles, Coleman Harrison, Isaiah Harrison, Matthew Harrison and Johnny Harrison Jr.; aunt, Lottie Solomon; sister, Theresa Taylor; paternal grandparents, Johnny Sr. and Sedonia Harrison; father-in-law, Charley Lamark; and brother-in-law, Elvyn B. Lotten Sr. He enjoyed entertaining family and friends and barbecuing during Dallas Cowboy games. The family wishes to extend a special thank you to the doctors and nurses of Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center and Baton Rouge General Hospice.
