

A loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother, passed away Monday March 22, 2010 at her residence. She was 88, native of Lafayette, TX and residence of Baton Rouge. She was retired from the State of Louisiana Department of Revenue and Taxation. Visitation will be at Greenoaks Funeral Home, 9595 Florida Blvd. Wednesday March 24, 2010 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and Thursday March 25 at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church Pope Hall, 8833 Goodwood Blvd. 10:00 a.m. to 10:55 a.m. with services following in the church at 11:00 a.m. Services will be conducted by Rev. Brien Koehler. Interment will follow in Greenoaks Memorial Park. She is survived by two daughters, Lynn Ballard and husband Don, Deborah Thornton and husband Joe; a son, Charles R. “Chuck” Guidry Jr. and wife Mary Catherine.; two sisters, Alta Henderson of Midland, TX and Helen Hackett of Arcadia, CA; five grandchildren, Mark Ballard and wife Diana, Amy Vega and husband Stephen, Kelly Hebert and husband Patrick, Brooke Perot and husband Mike and Trey Guidry; nine great grandchildren, Stephanie, Rebecca, Collin, Kate, Blake, Sarah Kate, Brittany, Emily and Zachary; and a faithful K-9 companion Otis. She was preceded in death by husband of 64 years Charles R. Guidry Sr.; parents, Clifton and Dovie Riley and brother Boyce Riley. Pallbearers will be Trey Guidry, Mike Perot, Mark Ballard, Patrick Hebert, Kenny Raymond and Stephen Vega. Honorary pallbearers will be Ronnie Riley and Frank Wilklow. She was a member of St. Luke’s Episcopal Church. The family would like to give thanks to Clarity Hospice and especially to Janelle. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association or to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
