Nasri Charles Barbari

A loving husband, father and grandfather, Charles passed away Friday, Nov. 26, 2010, surrounded by his family. He was 65, born Aug. 2, 1945, in Baton Rouge and a U.S. Air Force veteran. Charles spent half of his career as an electrician with Ethyl Corp. and retired from the City of Baton Rouge in 2009 where he had served as a wastewater treatment supervisor. He was a member of Broadmoor Methodist Church. Visiting at Greenoaks Funeral Home, 9595 Florida Blvd., on Monday, Nov. 29, from noon until religious services at 3:30 p.m., conducted by the Rev. Lee Allen. Interment in Greenoaks Memorial Park. He was preceded in death by his mother, Shirley Ree McDowell Kirkland; father, Joseph Barbari; and half brother, Robert Barbari. He is survived by his wife of 21 years, Marsha Nichols Barbari; daughters and sons-in-law, Wendi Barbari and Kurt Loup, and Karla Ann Barbari and Shannon Waddell; son, Charles Russell Barbari; first wife and his children's mother, Ginger Foster; stepdaughters and stepsons-in-law, Amy Shanks and Harold Wilbratte, and Lori Shanks and Robert Martin; and grandchildren, Aidan and Cole Waddell, Paul and Amelie Loup, Olivia and Avery Barbari, Jordan Wilbratte, and Sev and Andrew Martin. Pallbearers will be Rusty Jones, Bobby Williams, Ronald Ellis, Kurt Loup, Robert Martin and Harold Wilbratte. Honorary pallbearers are Shannon, Aidan and Cole Waddell, Paul Loup and Sev and Andrew Martin. The family offers its sincere gratitude to Dr. Gerald Miletello, Baton Rouge Hospice and Karen Case, his compassionate caregiver in his final days.
