

Norman Ray Neames, Sr. passed from this life on Friday, October 1, 2021. He was a lifelong resident of Baton Rouge, LA. He had a passion for working on anything with a motor, especially tractors. His hobbies included carpentry, gardening and making knives just to name a few. He loved to be outdoors any chance he got. He retired after many years of service from the LSU Agriculture Center Botanic Gardens at the Burden Museum & Gardens.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife Mary Neames of Baton Rouge; daughter, Sharon Stokes (Brett) of Gonzales; sons, David Neames (Kandi) of Watson; and Robert Neames, (Jessica) of Baton Rouge; Grandchildren, Alesha LaCombe (Josh), Sheree Vicknair (Daniel Sr.), Mathew Stokes (Natalie), Jayde Neames and Justin “Tank” Neames; and another baby girl due in December. Seven great-grandchildren, Aubrey, Chandler, Daniel Jr., Lynnox, Adalyn, Jaxon and Heidi; nephew, Bobby Neames (Vicki); and niece, Laura Matherne (Tony).
He is preceded in death by his son, Norman Neames Jr.; father, Harry Neames; mother, Carrie Neames; brother, Bobby Neames Sr.; and sister-in-law, Jerrilen “JoAnn” Neames.
Visitation will be from 9:00 am until time of service at 12:00 pm Friday, October 8, 2021 at Greenoaks Funeral Home, 9595 Florida Blvd., Baton Rouge, La. 70815.
