Ola Mae Hogan Daniel, 98, of Baton Rouge, LA, was born December 13, 1923, to Daniel Esco and Janie Seals Hogan. She passed away Friday, February 4, 2022, at her home. She was well cared for by her devoted son, Gordon, who never left her side.
She worked as an operator for South Central Bell Telephone Company and retired from the East Baton Rouge School System where she helped numerous people obtain their GED’s. She was a caretaker at heart. Her door was always open to both people and animals. She was a long-time member of Naomi chapter No. 38 of the Order of the Eastern Star, having served as Worthy Matron in 1988.
She is survived by 3 sons, Ben Guidry, Gordon Daniel, Jr., and James (Peggy) Daniel; 5 grandchildren, Bou Guidry, Rhonda Nichols, Steve, Leighanne and Meagan Daniel; 2 great-grandchildren, Bekka and Maddie Nichols; sister, Marie Bain.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Gordon Daniel, Sr.; daughter-in-law, Carol Guidry; sisters, Lexie Bond and Josephine Lea; brothers, Ray and Jessie Hogan.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, February 8, 2022, at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd, from 9 am until service at 11 am. Graveside services will follow at Hillsdale Baptist Church Cemetery in Amite at 1 pm.
