Paul Purvis Salvant died Monday, February 5, 2024 at 71 years old surrounded by loved ones at Baton Rouge General. He was also known as Pauly P, P Diddy, Master P and Big Bug. A graduate of the Baton Rouge High class of 1971, Paul was a friend to all and comedic relief to everyone around. He had the kindest heart and a spirit of generosity that touched so many. Paul always beat to his own drum, not caring if anyone else enjoyed his personal tune (though everyone did). Though hardheaded at times, Paul’s tenacity helped him grow a small 2 man business to a 40+ person, multi city success story. He led by kindness and hard work and was respected by all in the business. He leaves his throne to his youngest daughter who epitomizes his dedication and loving spirit. The Big Bug may no longer be with us but we know the Lady Bug will continue his legacy. Some of Paul’s favorite things were fishing, golfing, Kiwanis, LSU sports, mismatched clothes, croc shoes, croc slippers, his family, his friends, a frozen beer mug of milk at night and a Jameson and ginger anytime. Paul was active in many organizations including: Past President Baton Rouge Pest Control Association, Past President Louisiana Pest Management Association, Past President Cortana Kiwanis of Baton Rouge, TipMasters, Former Board Member Ascension Chamber of Commerce and several others. Paul is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Deborah Manda Salvant; daughters, Leigh Moss and husband Lenny Moss; Lauren Pritchett and husband Tyler Pritchett and Layne Salvant; grandchildren, Ellianna, Amelia & Madeleine Moss and Palmer, Wright & Nolan Pritchett; sister, Sally Salvant; sister-in-Law, Patt Manda; and numerous nieces of nephews. He is preceded in death by his mother, Grace Purvis Salvant; father, James C. Salvant; and brother, James M. Salvant. As Paul’s family is grieved by this sudden loss, they ask that you share a story where Paul made you laugh. Let us all remember him as the life of the party and the best husband and father his girls could ask for. In lieu of flowers we ask that you make a donation to the American Heart Association. A memorial gathering will be held at Greenoaks Funeral Home, 9595 Florida Blvd, Baton Rouge, LA 70815, on Saturday, February 10, 2024 from 10 AM until his memorial service at 12:30 PM.
