Paula Hopper Denham

Paula Hopper Denham a native of Baton Rouge and resident of Denham Springs, passed away on Friday, June 23, 2017 at Baton Rouge General Medical Center-Bluebonnet at the age of 74. She was an elementary school teacher in East Baton Rouge Parish Schools and Parkview Baptist School. Paula was a graduate of Istrouma High School, class of 1960 and Louisiana State University with a B.S. in elementary education in 1964 and M.Ed. in administration and supervision in 1967. Paula was preceded in death by her father, Martin E. Hopper and maternal grandmother, Vera Carson Strahan. She is survived by her husband, Henry N. “Butch” Denham, Jr.; daughter, Rebecca Denham McIntire and husband Kevin and their children Ashlea and Jacob; son, David N. Denham and wife Jessica and their children Christine and Cassandra; mother, Mildred Hopper; brothers, Michael and Melvin Hopper. Family and friends are invited to attend the visitation which will be held at Greenoaks Funeral Home on Monday, June 26, 2017 from 6 pm- 9 pm. Visitation will resume on Tuesday, June 27, 2017 from 1pm until funeral service begins at 2pm. Burial will follow in Greenoaks Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, M.D. Anderson or The Methodist Children’s Home in care of Live Oak United Methodist Church.
