

Pearl Kinchen Wesley passed away on Monday, May 22, 2017 at the age of 86 after a struggle with cancer. Pearl was born in Galvez, LA. She graduated from St. Gabriel High School as valedictorian. After moving to Baton Rouge, she went to work at Exxon’s Research and Development Laboratory where she had over 35 years of service when she retired. Pearl was an avid lifelong reader, preferring mysteries and author James Patterson. She had belonged to the Cajun Clickers Computer Club, and also enjoyed bowling, genealogy, and embroidery. She was preceded in death by her husband of 38 years, Roy Wesley Sr.; parents John Kinchen and Mamie LeBoeuf Kinchen; sisters Wilma Vernice, Thelma Luckey, Ernestine “Teenie” Chadwick, and June “Cat” Curtis; brothers John Jr., Jarson “Jim”, Carl “Bear”, Roger “Pete”, Huey, and Austin “Coonie” Kinchen; and granddaughter Bria Wesley. Pearl is survived by her children Lydia North (Christian) and Roy Wesley Jr. (Barbara); granddaughters Tiffanie Becker (Keith), Sandra Musgrave (Steven), and Paige Wesley; great-grandchildren Travis and Austin Becker, Brianna Anderson, and Skye and Matthew Musgrave; sisters Ora Smith, Lovey Savoy, Audrey Shumate, and Carol “Bummie” Kinchen; and brothers Paul “Bugger” and Joseph “Dood” Kinchen. Family and friends are invited to attend the visitation which will be held on Saturday, June 17 from 12:00 pm until the memorial service at 2:00 pm at Greenoaks Funeral Home, 9595 Florida Blvd., Baton Rouge, LA. A cremation burial will immediately follow at Resthaven Gardens of Memory, 11817 Jefferson Hwy., Baton Rouge, LA.
