Peggy Tyson Avault passed away peacefully November 13 at home in Baton Rouge at the age of 80. Visitation is Monday November 20 at St. George church from 1 to 3 pm, Mass service will follow. Peggy was preceded in death by her parents J.C. and Otis Tyson, two brothers, Don Royce and Doyle, and sister Betty. She leaves behind two brothers, B.W. and Larry and one sister, Gilda, her husband James Avault Jr of 57 years, son James III, and daughter Mary Catherine, grandchildren James IV, Hannah, and Andrew. Peggy was born March 29, 1943 and lived in Mer Rouge La until moving away to attend college at Northeast La State College for a year and a year at LSU. Peggy left college to take a job as a dental hygienist assistant. She left work to raise her two kids and returned to working with the La State Senate once her kids were grown. She enjoyed, tole painting, working with stained glass, and other crafting projects. Her favorite pastime was visiting and entertaining with friends and family at cookouts and crawfish boils.
