
Peggy Hoffman was a beloved wife, mother, sister and "Grandy." She was a retired traffic coordinator and CSR for more than 30 years with Univar USA Inc. and a native and resident of Baton Rouge. She died 2:30 p.m. Sunday, June 6, 2010, at her residence surrounded by family and friends, after a courageous, seven-year battle with cancer. She was 56. Peggy was a 1972 graduate of Glen Oaks High School. She attended LSU in 2001-03 as a part-time student. Being a breast cancer survivor motivated Peggy to become active with the Baton Rouge Komen affiliate as a volunteer. She co-chaired the registration committee for two years. She was passionate about helping others to be better informed about her disease, its treatment and finding a cure. Visitation at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd., Tuesday, June 8, was from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Visitation continues at the funeral home chapel Wednesday from 10 a.m. until religious service at noon, conducted by the Rev. Thomas C. Ranzino. Survived by her husband, Gary Hoffman; daughters, Tricia Gant, Tara Gant Lafleur and husband David; sons, Paul Hoffman and wife Ally, Philip Hoffman and wife Rina; sister, Debbie Reed; brother, Richard Reed and wife Linda; grandchildren, Dylan, Brady, Elisabeth, Sean, Leonardo and a grandson on the way. Peggy was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph D. and Ethel Hidalgo Reed; and brother, Michael Wayne Reed. Honorary pallbearers will be Brandon Hollis, Dane Reed and Wendell Hebert.
