Pete Miranda Buhler, affectionately known as "Mama Pete or Memaw", passed away peacefully on Thursday, Feb. 4, 2021 at the age of 86. She was a longtime resident of Baton Rouge. Pete loved life and lived it to the fullest with strength and bravery. She loved entertaining friends and family, and she loved a good card game! She was the backbone of our family. She taught us, through example, to be self sufficient, to fight for the things most dear to us and to do so knowing that she and God were always standing behind us, supporting us. She raised us to believe that anything is possible. We knew that through the grace of God, she would have laid down her life to protect any one of us. In many everyday ways she gave of herself to sustain us. We will forever be indebted to her. Pete is survived by her daughters, Stacie Buhler and Noura Kaye Skakri; sons, Kurt Buhler and wife Karen and Bret Buhler and wife Ashleigh; six grandchildren, Scott, Megan, Blake and Tripp Buhler and Miranda and Cornelius O'Callaghan; and three great-grandchildren, Finley, Eli and Reese Buhler. She is preceded in death by her husband, her rock, Carol L. Buhler, her infant son, Scott Michael Buhler, her parents, Anthony J. Miranda, Nora Devellier Miranda and her sister, June Miranda Cashio. A special thanks to her life long friend, Sally Crifasi and her loving caregiver family, Rita, Kandy and Tara and the staff at Clarity Hospice. Visitation will begin at 9:30 am on Tuesday, Feb 9. at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church until Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am. Interment will follow on the grounds of Greenoaks Memorial Park.
