

Peter Anthony “Pete” Constantino, 86 years young, born March 29th, 1929, entered eternal rest in the early morning hours of February 20th, 2016 surrounded by his loving family. He was a lifelong resident of Baton Rouge and a 1947 graduate of Catholic High School. Although short in stature, Pete was big in personality with a giant heart. Known as a family man he was always there for his son, granddaughters, and many others for anything they needed. Pete made friends easily with his charm and quick wit and made others laugh wherever he went. He was a retired electrician and loyal member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 955. He was part owner of longtime family business the “Infamous” Cotton Club Restaurant. He was a member of Our Lady of Mercy Church Hall of Fame for his many years of dedication and commitment to the parish. He is survived by his beloved wife of 65 years Janie Argrave Constantino, his adored son Keith and wife Jan, his cherished granddaughters Angela Waguespack (Daniel), Nikki Guidry (Steven), and Marlo Martin (Matthew); and the apples of his eyes, his great grandchildren Lily, Anthony, Madden, Cooper, Olivia, Landry, Abigail, and Collins. Also survived by siblings, Frank and wife Louise, Glenn, and Olive (Papoose) Richard, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by parents Joseph and Agnes Constantino, siblings, Louis (Louie), Joseph (JoJo), Betty Doughty and Joyce Jones. Special thanks to his Doctors Denzel Moraes and Leo Blaize along with their entire nursing staff for the years of care. Thanks to Phyllis Simmons his niece, for all her help during his OLOL hospital stay. Visitation will be on Tuesday February 23rd from 8:30 till 10:30 Mass at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church with burial to follow at Green Oaks Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be his grandson in laws Daniel, Steven, and Matthew, brothers Frank and Glenn Constantino, Godchild, Randy White, and brother in law Wayne Argrave. Honorary Pallbearers are close friends Buck Devillier, Ray Guitreau, and brother in law W.T. Doughty. In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church, the American Diabetes Association or have a Mass said in his name.
