A native of Plaquemine, he died at 2:15 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 24, 2009, at his residence in Baton Rouge. He was 92 and a U.S. Army veteran. Visiting at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd., on Monday, Jan. 26, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Visiting at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church on Tuesday from 9:30 a.m. until religious service at 10:30 a.m., conducted by the Rev. Michael Moroney. Interment in Roselawn Memorial Park. Survived by his wife, Vergie Newell Miranda; daughter and son-in-law, Carol M. and Bobby Gauthier; three grandchildren, Bobby Gauthier Jr. and wife Suzette, Lisa Ball, and Dana Campbell and husband Scotty; six great-grandchildren, Kayla, Devin, Russell, Ashley, Austin and Faith; and a great-great-granddaughter, Lisa Dawn. Preceded in death by his first wife, Marie C. Miranda; parents, sister and brother.
