

Ralph Martin Hutchinson passed away September 8, 2014, at Tulane Medical Center in New Orleans after a brief illness. In his final days and hours, he was surrounded by and embraced with the love of his family and cherished friends. He was 70. Ralph served six years in the United States Army, during which time he saw action in Santo Domingo as a member of the Elite Special Forces. He was a letter carrier for 31 years. Visiting will be Friday, September 12, 2014, from 9:30 a.m. until Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. at St. Aloysius Catholic Church, 2025 Stuart Avenue, Baton Rouge, LA. He is survived by his loving, caring wife and best friend, Veronica; his son, Brian&his wife, Crystal; his mother, Ruby Lastrapes Hutchinson; three siblings, Henry Cornelius Hutchinson, Jr.,"C.J."; Melvin Hutchinson, and Gaynell (Robert) Dickens; an aunt, Thelma H. Smith; two grandchildren, Jacob Jordan and Amanda Cornelius; three great-grandchildren, Drew, Brecken, and Gracie; brothers-in-law, Donald (Genevieve) Bajoie and Ronald Bajoie; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends. Ralph was preceded in death by his father, Henry Cornelius Hutchinson, Sr. and sister, Sheila Rae Hutchinson. The family would like to extend a special thank you for the exceptional care Ralph received from Dr. Joseph Lasky&the nursing staff at Tulane Medical Center. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation
