I met Ray back in the 70's when he played bass in the band Freeze I was part of.  Except for a little graying and slowing down, I think he looked the same back then.

Please receive our sincerest condolences for the loss of your loved one. I will always cherish my fond memories of Ray and the times spent together with him and my sister Sandy when we visited my parents in Baton Rouge many years ago.
He was always very kind and thoughtful, never forgetting my birthday every year,  by sending me a lovely message.
May he rest peacefully in the kingdom of our Lord,

Ray…You really were one of the  kind of people that
can’t be replaced in someone’s life. You were so talented and taught me so much… You were kind and considerate and never said no when it came to helping somebody with a musical problem because you were an excellent musician and friend. I will never forget the time you took showing me and writing out instructions of how to play certain techniques on paper….I remember you asking for me to play a song you had written out and I would tell you my dog ate it… from then on you would greet me with ( hello… “The dog ate my homework “ and we would laugh together. You will be truly missed my friend…I pray that you found Peace in the Arms of Jesus….
