A retired instrumentation technician and a resident of Slaughter, he died Thursday, March 6, 2008, at his home at age 80. Visiting at Rabenhorst Funeral Home chapel, 825 Government St., on Wednesday, March 12, from 3 p.m. until memorial service at 4 p.m., conducted by the Rev. Dale DeLaune. There will be a Masonic service at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday. He is survived by his wife, Aileen Braland Spencer; and a sister, Mary Jo Green, of Phoenix. He was preceded in death his parents and a sister, Betty Ruth. He was past master of East Gate Lodge 452, St. Albans Lodge 28 and Slaughter Lodge 475, F&AM and a member of Feliciana Lodge 31, Glen Rose Lodge 525, F&AM, of Glen Rose, Texas, Istrouma Chapter 28 Knights Templar, Istrouma Chapter 92 Royal Arch Masons, Istrouma Chapter 33 Cryptic Masons, the Acacia Shrine Center, Baton Rouge Chapter 163 and Eunice Chapter 14, Order of the Eastern Star. He was a past district deputy grand master for the 13th Masonic District and a member of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks.
