

After a valiant fight, retired Navy Lieutenant Commander, Rene’ Andre Bernard Louviere, Sr., lost his battle against COPD and lung cancer on Monday, February 28, 2022. He was 69 years old. Rene’ was born in New Orleans, LA, and was a resident of Jayess, MS. His love of life touched so many. Rene’ loved people. His beautiful sense of humor attracted everyone to him. With gusto, he pursued hunting, fishing, gardening and cooking. Rene’ touched many lives during his career as a top notch industrial salesman. He is survived by his wife, Brenda Willis, who walked an incredible journey with him for almost 25 years. He cherished his children, Rene’ Louviere, Jr., Dawn Nysten, Nola Veliz and Jene’ Louviere, who survive him. Rene’ loved his siblings, Ben Louviere and wife, Mona, Adrian Louviere and wife, Denise, Margo Russell and husband, Michael, and Lisa Calico and husband, Mike. He loved all his nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. He moved from this earth to celebrate eternal life in Heaven with his Mother and Father, Catherine and Bernard Louviere, and Grandparents, Eunice Brouillette Yuest, Adrian Lemoine Yuest, Paul Louviere and Therese Hebert Louviere. Rene’s love of God was phenomenal. He loved his country and considered it an honor to serve his country in the Navy. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the marvelous doctors, nurses, therapists and entire staff in the Baton Rouge General ICU-C unit who attended Rene’ during his stay. A graveside service will be held at Greenoaks Memorial Park, 9595 Florida Blvd., Baton Rouge, LA, followed by military honors on Monday, March 21, 2022, at 2:00pm.
