
An amazing husband, father, grandfather and friend, Richard Haygood Crawford passed away on Monday, May 18, 2009, in Baton Rouge at age 76. He was a native of Andalusia, Ala., and a resident of Baton Rouge for 44 years. He was a retired 25-year employee of Borden Chemical in Geismar. He is survived by a son, Richard H. Crawford Jr. and wife Dianne M., Austin, Texas; a daughter, Tammy A. Crawford, Baton Rouge; and a son, David M. Crawford, Chicago; granddaughters, Amelia L. Crawford and Carlisle F. Crawford, Austin, and Caitlyn A. Parker, Baton Rouge; and grandsons, Richard Benjamin Crawford, Austin, Jeffrey D. Parker Jr. and Shannon M. Parker, both of Baton Rouge. Visitation at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd., on Thursday, May 21, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Visitation at Foreman-Brown Funeral Home in Andalusia, Ala., on Saturday, May 23, from 10 a.m. until service at 11 a.m. Burial to follow in Magnolia Cemetery, Andalusia. He was preceded in death by his parents, Vernon Benjamin and Cleta Augusta Crawford; wife, Sara Nell Crawford; and daughter, Melanie Crawford. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the American Cancer Society, the ARC of the United States or a charity of your choice.
