Richard Daniel Hill, a loving son, brother, grandson and friend died Saturday, July 23, 2016, accidentally in a drug and alcohol related death at the age of 34 years old. Daniel was a graduate of LSU and worked in the construction industry. He loved the outdoors passionately and was a particularly gifted fisherman. He loved life and lived it to the fullest by passionately pursuing his interests with intensity and vigor. He struggled at times to cope with this world, but has now found the peace that he could not find here. In recent years, he embraced motorcycle touring and loved to travel on road trips with his dad. Daniel loved animals, especially dogs, and was particularly close to his old friend, Dozer. He is survived by his loving family including his mother Sherri, his brother Brian, his dad Ricky, and his grandmother, Eileen T. Hill. Also surviving him are his aunts and uncles, Susan and Bruce Hoffmann, Joann and Earl Landry, Dianna and John Domingue, Bobby and Janelle Hill, and Trina Cassano along with numerous cousins, extended family and close friends. His lifelong friends were particularly important to him. Daniel is already intensely missed by all who knew and loved him. He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Neff Lynn Hill and Fred Cassano, Jr. and grandmother Doris L Cassano as well as an uncle, Wayne Cassano, Sr. Visitation of the family and friends will be on Monday, August 1, 2016, at Rabenhorst East Funeral Home, 11000 Florida Blvd., Baton Rouge, LA, from 9:00 to 11:00 AM. Honorary pallbearers are Remington Miller, Evan Connor and Bill Kirkland. The family wishes to extend sincere thanks to Deborah Wray, LCSW. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to a charity of your choice in honor of Daniel.
