Robert Roy Barnes, a resident of Baton Rouge, died Monday, Nov. 16, 2009, after a brief illness at the age of 82. He is survived by his loving wife, Patricia T. "Patsy" Barnes; sister, Edna Mae Knight, of Hobbs, N.M.; numerous caring nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends. Visitation at Broadmoor United Methodist Church on Wednesday, Nov. 18, from 10 a.m. until funeral service at 11 a.m. Burial in Sandhill Cemetery, Ponchatoula, at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Louisiana Methodist Foundation, 8337 Jefferson Highway, Baton Rouge, LA 70809 or Capitol Area United Way.
