

On January 26, 2016 after a long battle with Alzheimers, the angels escorted Bob on his final journey home. Bob was born December 9, 1943 in Bronx, New York and was a long time resident of Central, Louisiana. He was preceded in death by his mother, Anne Remsing Weygandt; step father Robert Weygandt; and daughter, Elizabeth Anne Blake. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Francine Blake; son, Robert; daughter Katharine; numerous nieces and nephews; and many friends. Bob was retired from Shell Chemical where he worked as an inspector at their Geismar, LA facility for 28 years. He was a devoted and loving husband and father who enjoyed playing golf, being with family and friends and coaching softball at St. Louis King of France youth league. He was a veteran of the United States Army serving in Vietnam in 1967-68 earning a Bronze Star for Valor and was a member of the American Legion. Visitation will be held at Greenoaks Funeral Home on Florida Blvd. on Sunday January 31, 2016 from 5 PM until 8 PM. Visitation will resume at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church on Greenwell Springs Rd. on Monday February 1, 2016, from 10 AM until funeral service at 11 AM. Interment will follow in Greenoaks Memorial Park.
