Bob Bodin, 73, a native of Leonville and a resident of Baton Rouge, passed away on Thursday, Nov. 19, 2009, surrounded by family and friends. Bob was a veteran of the U.S. Army and a retiree of the Louisiana Department of Corrections. He was a third-degree member of the Knights of Columbus Council 2807 and gave his time generously to those in need. Bob, also known to his customers as "Mr. B," was also the owner and secret-recipe creator of Mr. B's Cajun Products. Bob's cooking career began in the U.S. Army and never stopped. His specialties were chicken and sausage gumbo and fried turkey. He was a generous man, with a kind heart, a listening ear, thoughtful advice and a booming laugh. Bob loved to eat corn bread and milk on Sunday nights, dance with his wife, sit on his glider in the sun and watch a good LSU ballgame. He was a strict disciplinarian to his five children, yet he spoiled his grandchildren rotten. He was loved very much and will be dearly missed. Survived by his wife of 51 years, Rochelle Devillier Bodin; children and their spouses, Brian and Donna Bodin, Barrie and Joe Blanchard, Kevin and Anna Bodin, Brett and Keelie Bodin, and Kyle and Jennifer Bodin; brothers, William "Bill" Bodin and Jules Bodin Jr.; sister, Frankie Bodin Richard; 10 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
