

Robert Bennett Hyde, II, passed away on March 29, 2026, at the age of 83. He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his wife, Carolyn Sue (Durbin) Hyde; two sons, Mark Hyde, and Jeffrey Hyde (Johnna); 8 grandchildren, Chase Hyde, Elizabeth Henderickson, Colin Hyde, Zak Hyde, Madelaine Godwin, Molly Gurley, Cameron Hyde, and Casey Hyde; 7 great-grandchildren, Daniel Sellers, Jr., Charlie Godwin, Dax Godwin, Grayson A. Hyde, Claire Victoria Hyde, Joshua Henderickson, and Olivia Henderickson; and his sister, Barbara Walters. He is preceded in death by his parents, Robert Bennett Hyde and Doris (Baron) Hyde.
Robert, also known as Bob, was an avid LSU football and baseball fan, as well as a Dallas Cowboys fan. He enjoyed playing cards and board games; cooking and sharing meals with family and friends; he especially loved eating chocolate ice cream. Bob also enjoyed taking walks on the beach, playing football with his kids, grandkids, and the neighborhood kids, and being “camp director”.
A visitation will be held at Greenoaks Funeral Home, 9595 Florida Blvd, Baton Rouge, LA 70815, on Monday, April 6, 2026, from 9 am until funeral services at 11 am. Burial will follow in Greenoaks Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be: Chase Hyde, Zak Hyde, Casey Hyde, Colin Hyde, Matthew Hendrickson and Gary Sledge.
