A resident and native of Baton Rouge, he passed away at his home Tuesday, March 4, 2008, at age 72. A graduate of Catholic High School, he retired from Local 995 as an electrician and was an estimator and a U.S. Army veteran, having served in the Special Services Division. He is survived by two stepchildren, Marty and Delk Martinez; a brother, Dalton F. Sims Jr. and wife Mae D. Sims; nephews, Jody Sims and Tony Sullivan; and a niece, D'Anne Montgomery. He was the son of the late Dalton F. Sims Sr. and Nellie Simoneaux Sims. Visiting at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd., on Friday, March 7, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Visiting at St. Louis King of France Catholic Church, 2121 N. Sherwood Forest Blvd., on Saturday from 9 a.m. until Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m., with the Rev. Jack Nutter, celebrant. Interment will follow in Greenoaks Memorial Park.
