Robert Wiley Weldon, a native of Pitkin and resident of Baton Rouge, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 7, 2010, at the age of 77. Mr. Weldon was retired from the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development and a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. He is survived by his sister, Willie Mae Jones; sisters-in-law, Peggy Weldon and Clydia Weldon; numerous nieces and nephews, including a special niece, Jill Herrin. Preceded in death by his parents, Simeon and Nora Weldon; brothers, Wallace, Fisher and Mac Weldon; and a sister, Iva Lee Warrington. Visiting will be at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd., on Thursday, Sept. 9, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Graveside services will be held at the Blue Branch Cemetery in Pitkin on Friday, Sept. 10, at 11 a.m., conducted by the Rev.
