

Rose Mary Brackin Truxillo was born on November 17, 1926, passed away 13 days shy of her 98th birthday, on Monday, November 4, 2024. She was a native of Port Allen, LA, and a longtime resident of Baton Rouge, LA. She was a daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She enjoyed painting, gardening, flower arranging, shopping, and playing card games. Above all, she cherished the time she spent with her family. Rose Mary is survived by her children, Sharon Cortez (Brent), Terrell Vrenick (Thomas), W.P. Truxillo, Jr., and Jon Arnold Truxillo; grandchildren, Richard Daspit (April), Ryan Vrenick (Sarah Carpenter), and Rachel Capone (Edwin); great-grandchildren, Tyler Daspit, Alyssa Daspit, Diana Carpenter Vrenick, Rosalie Carpenter Vrenick, Cohen Capone, and Baby Girl Capone is on the way; furbaby, Panda; and a host of other loving family members. She is preceded in death by her husband, Willoughby P. Truxillo “Bill”; parents, Arnold and Marie Brackin; siblings, Arnold Brackin, James Brackin, Beatrice McMillian, and Nettie Arboneaux; daughter-in-law, Dana Leigh Truxillo; and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be at St. Alphonsus Liguori Catholic Church, 14040 Greenwell Springs Rd., Greenwell Springs, LA, on Friday, November 15, 2024, from 10am until the Funeral Mass at 11:30am. Burial will be at Greenoaks Memorial Park at 3pm. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the caregivers at Sunrise Assisted Living. Also a very special thanks to Lori Barthel for the loving care given to Rose Mary.
