Rosie Maddie Collette, a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, passed away at the age of 87 on Tuesday, November 12, 2013 at her home in Baton Rouge. She was born October 15, 1926 in Woodside, LA. When we think of mama or mawmaw, the word "family" comes to mind. Family and God is what gives meaning to the word life. Mama always made us and her faith priority. She started her day by praying the rosary. She taught us the meaning of love and family. We always knew we had a place to gather whether it was for a celebration or just a good home cooked meal. We can invision her cooking those delicious looking pancakes that we all try to copy. Mama never measured when she cooked, but somehow it always tasted delicious. We can apply the same philosophy to life. We cannot measure all of the joyous events we shared, but we can say they were always memorable. Memories will sustain our family until we meet again. God has added another angel to watch over all of us. While losing your presence on earth, we can be comforted knowing you're an angel of God. We all hope to carry on the values of family, faith, and love that you have bestowed on all of us. We love you mama from the bottom of our hearts, but most of all we thank you for the gifts of love, faith, and family. Rosie is survived by her husband of 67 years, Anthony N. Collette, daughter, Carol Collette Hotard, son, Ronnie Collette and wife Brenda all of Baton Rouge; granddaughters, Dana Hotard Quebedeaux and husband Allen, Toni Hotard Cockerham and husband Daron, Angie Collette Ainsworth and husband Kurt; grandson, Dustin Collette and wife Nikki; great grandchildren, Brett and Brandi Quebedeaux, Blake and Jamie Cockerham, Kaylyn, Alex, Ryan, and Lucy Ainsworth, and Kate and Lindsey Collette.
