

Russell Eugene Lasyone, born March 14, 1954 in Shreveport, La, died April 17, 2013 in Baton Rouge, La surrounded by his family and friends. Russell's family moved to Baton Rouge after his father retired from the military. He attended and finished school at Istrouma High School. On May 5, 1981, Russell joined the EBR Parish Sheriff's Office, serving with honor until his retirement on July 1, 2010. After retiring, he retained his commission and continued serving as a Reserve Deputy. Russell is survived by his wife of 33 years, Starr Phillips Lasyone; daughter Amy Sue Lasyone and Albert Dejean; his granddaughter Londyn Claire Dejean; a sister Carol Dykes and husband Paul; brother Ronald Lasyone and wife Lolita; and a host of nephews, nieces, great-nephews and great nieces and close friends. He was preceded in passing by his parents, Wilbert M and Myrtle Evelyn Thornhill Lasyone, and one brother, Sidney Glenn Lasyone. A graveside service will held on Monday, April 22, 2013 at 2pm at Greenoaks Memorial Park. Russell was devoted to his family and fulfilled his role as a loving husband, parent, grandparent, son and brother. He was a devout Christian and Catholic. It is our belief that he died in God's grace and now rests in the arms of a merciful God who has granted him peace.
