
Russell Burns Tucker Sr., 89, passed away in the early morning hours of Wednesday, September 30, 2015 at his home in Baton Rouge, LA. Born in Ponchatoula, LA, Russell served in the Army during World War II receiving a Victory Medal, and later retired from ExxonMobil after 39 years of service. An avid baseball fan, Russell was also an American Legion member for 62 years and a Mason in the Trinity Union Lodge #372. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 57 years, Dorothy Basso Tucker, his parents, Mattie and Mortee Tucker, and his sisters, Patsy Barnes and Evelyn Stevens. Russell is survived by his daughter, Connie Tucker, and his son, Rusty Tucker and wife Susan. He is also survived by five grandchildren, Kimberly Blake and husband Bill, Brittany Guelfo and husband Jonathan, Alan Carpenter, Robyn Carpenter, and Clay Tucker, and five great-grandchildren, Kayla&William Blake, Tucker&Benjamin Guelfo, and Cash Carpenter-Otero. Visitation will be held at Rabenhorst East on Monday, October 5 from 9-10:30, with a Masonic service beginning at 10:30 and a religious service at 11. The burial service will be held at Sand Hill Cemetery in Ponchatoula at 1. Pallbearers are Bill Blake, Warren Bogan, Alan Carpenter, Frank Fertitta, Jonathan Guelfo, and Clay Tucker. Honorary pallbearers are Kenneth DeJean and Earl "Tunt" McAllister.
