A loving husband, father, brother, grandfather and great-grandfather, he was a retired Private Investigator, and a resident of Baton Rouge, and a native of Memphis, Tenn. Russell passed away Saturday April 23, 2011 at The Carpenter House. He was 74 and a US Marine corps veteran. Visitation will be at Greenoaks Funeral Home 9595 Florida Blvd. on Tuesday April 26, from 5pm till 9pm visiting will continue at the funeral home on Wednesday April 27, from 9am till service time at 10am. Russell is survived by his wife of 20 years Mary O. Wilson, two daughters Sherrie Kahnahrens and husband David, Kimberly Berry and husband Kevin, 2 step-sons Kevin McCoy and wife Kimm, Keith McCoy and wife Julie; sister Joanna B. Wilson, brother Jon Eric Wilson, and wife Mary, numerous grandchildren; great-grandchildren; nieces; and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father Jewell Russell Wilson; mother Kathryn Barratt Wilson; sister Kaye Wilson Naill. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to The Carpenter House.
