
Known affectionately as "The Ole Hen" by Louis, her husband of 68 years, Ruth Haddox Richardson went to her heavenly home at 8:40 p.m. Saturday, June 30, 2007. For the past eight days, Mrs. Richardson had been a resident of Heritage Manor of Baton Rouge, having lived in Walker the past 35 years. In addition to her husband, she is also survived by two daughters, Barbara Meades and her husband, John, and Carolyn Fickle and her husband, Lynn, all of Walker; special "adoptive" daughter, Ouida Z. Hamilton; five grandchildren, Jeff Meades and his wife, Donna, of Walker, Todd Meades of Chattanooga, Tenn., Kyle Meades and his wife, Celta, of Tucson, Ariz., Suzette Gauthier and her husband, Bobby, of Jensen Beach, Fla., and Chip Johnston and his wife, Tammy, of White Oak, Ga.; and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert H. Haddox Sr. and Lutie Estelle Clinton Haddox; two brothers, Robert H. Haddox Jr. and Ellis Ray Haddox; and two sisters, Sally Turner and Otha Edmonson. Graveside service at Greenoaks Memorial Park on Monday, July 2, at 2:30 p.m. under the direction of Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd. A memorial service to celebrate the life of Mrs. Richardson will be held at Revival Temple Church in Walker on Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. Services will be conducted by the Rev. Louis Harrell. In lieu flowers, the family requests memorial contributions to Alzheimer's Services, 3772 North Blvd., Baton Rouge, LA 70806 or Life Source Services Hospice, 3409 S. Sherwood Forest Blvd., Baton Rouge, LA 70816. The family would like to express a special thanks to Life Source for their care and compassion.
