

Sam J. Miceli, age 99, resident of Baton Rouge since 1935, passed away in Baton Rouge at 11:15 pm on April 5, 2013. He was born September 20, 1913 in Independence, LA. Sam was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Mamie Carona Miceli; daughter, Josephine Rae “Phyne” Arnone; son-in-law, John C. Aycock; great grandson, John Henry Johnston; and numerous siblings. He is survived by his daughter, Mary Lee Aycock; grandchildren, Tracy A. Johnston and husband Henry “Boots,” Joelle A. Simon and husband Darrin, Michael V. Arnone, Jerrell W. Arnone and wife Teresa, Paul David Arnone, Donna A. Montagnino and husband Alan, and Randall R. Arnone and wife Dena; 8 great grandchildren; son-in-law, Vincent J. Arnone; and sister, Nina. Sam was an avid gardener. He loved music and played the organ and accordion as a self-taught musician. Visitation will be from 9-10am and Funeral Mass at 10am on Tuesday, April 9, 2013 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 4727 McHugh Dr. Zachary, LA 70791. Entombment will follow at Greenoaks Memorial Park in Baton Rouge. Pallbearers will be Justin Arnone, Vincent J. Montagnino, Brock Primeaux, Joshua Arnone, Cade Primeaux and Randall R. Arnone.
