

"Sarah Tatar Maas, a native of New Orleans and a resident of Baton Rouge, passed away on Monday, January 1, 2018, at the age of 98. She had been an accountant at LSU, retiring after more than 30 years. She loved her family deeply, and she loved Beth Shalom Synagogue. Graveside service will be at Liberal Cemetery, 9665 Florida Blvd, on Wednesday, January 3, 2018, at 11:00 am, conducted by Rabbi Natan Trief. Sarah is survived by her daughter, Beverly Maas Ginsburg and son-in-law, Martin Ginsburg; and her son, Dale Michael Maas and daughter-in-law, Laurie Berenson Maas. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Craig Ginsburg, Jill Himmelstein, Benjamin Maas, and Rachael Maas; as well as great-grandchildren: Lucy Ginsburg, Max Himmelstein and Sam Himmelstein. She is preceded in death by her father, Benjamin Tatar; her mother, Annie Bronik Tatar; and her husband, Albert Maas, Jr. Many thanks to her caregivers at Baton Rouge General, particularly Chrisey; and much love and thanks to Fidelis Care, particularly Michelle Robert and Missy Hastings.
