

"Scott Edward Frazier, a resident of Baton Rouge, born on March 26, 1962 in Lafayette, Louisiana peacefully departed this earth on January 17, 2019 after a brief, unexpected illness. He was a devoted son to his mother, Edie Frazier, a faithful husband to his wife, Deane Frazier, and an exemplar father to his children, Emily and Graham. Those who had the privilege of knowing Scott loved him. He was a caring, outgoing giant of a man and will be missed by his family and friends. Scott earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Economics from LSU in 1984 and a Juris Doctorate degree from LSU Law School in 1987. He was a skilled attorney who specialized in construction law for over 30 years. His clients included some of the largest, most prominent contractors and construction companies in the State of Louisiana, while serving as the litigation counsel for the Louisiana Associated General Contractors. He regularly lectured to various organizations on construction law and was a skilled, dedicated and admired practitioner. Scott was also an active member of The Federalist Society, the Louisiana State Bar Association and its section on Fidelity, Surety and Construction Law, the Baton Rouge Bar Association and the Rotary Club of Baton Rouge. He was the former Vice-Chairman of the Louisiana Board of Ethics. Scott was a proud member of the Tiger Athletics Foundation and loved to attend LSU football games. He had a near photographic memory and was conversant on almost any subject matter but especially loved debating legal and current political issues. Scott was preceded in death by his father, Howard Dayton Frazier. Other survivors includes his brothers and sister-in-laws, Roy and Cindy Maughan of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, John and Jennifer Robinson of Hattiesburg, Mississippi, James and Jena Maughan of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and their children and grandchildren. Scott's family will host visitors Sunday, January 20, 2019 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Rabenhorst Funeral Home (825 Government Street) and Monday, January 21, 2019 at First Baptist Church (529 Convention Street) from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Religious services conducted by Pastor Oren Conner will follow. Thereafter, burial services at Resthaven Gardens of Memory & Funeral Home (11817 Jefferson Hwy).
