

Shirley Ann Haynes, born November 20, 1936, native of Baton Rouge, LA, former resident of Denham Springs, LA of 40 years, and of Wisner, LA of 11 years, and current resident of Kissimmee, FL, passed away Tuesday, February 27, 2024, at the age of 87. Shirley was a devoted wife of 58 years to Billy Joe Haynes and devoted mother to three daughters. A graduate of Baker High School, Shirley retired in 2003 after a career in office administration. She was known for her selfless devotion to her family and friends, her spunky personality, and her sense of humor. She loved spending time with her family, enjoying good food, and watching LSU and Saints football. She is survived by her daughters; Vickie Cornette and husband, Ron, Veronica Accornero and husband, John, and Vanessa Haynes; grandchildren, Clay and Shay Cornette, and Tsion and Milo Accornero; great-grandchild, Helena Cornette; and brothers, William “Sonny” Stiles, Gary Stiles, and Brad Stiles. Shirley is preceded in death by her husband, Billy Joe Haynes; parents, William Joseph Stiles and Alma Elvina Stiles; and beloved cat, Victor. Visitation will be held at Greenoaks Funeral Home, 9595 Florida Blvd., Baton Rouge, LA, on Wednesday, March 6, 2024 from 9:00am until the time of funeral services at 10:00am. Interment will immediately following at Greenoaks Memorial Park. In remembrance of Shirley’s life, the family asks that any charitable donations be made to the American Lung Association.
