Shirley Edna Johnston, 73, a native of Hollandale, Miss., and a resident of Denham Springs, passed away on Friday, March 12, 2010, at Ochsner Medical Center. Visitation will be held at Greenoaks Funeral Home, 9595 Florida Blvd., on Sunday, March 14, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Visitation continues at the funeral home on Monday, March 15, from 9 a.m. until services at noon. Interment will follow in Greenoaks Memorial Park. Services will be conducted by the Rev. Jimmy Babin. Shirley is survived by three daughters, Barbara Chaney and husband Daryl, Linda Lacost and husband Ed, and Kaye Hawkins and husband Bob Honeycutt; three sons: Jimmy Johnston, John Reed, and Harry Johnston Jr. and fiancée Linda Amato; 23 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren. Shirley was preceded in death by her husband, Harry Leroy Johnston; parents, Artie Shelton Sinclair and Arthur Oskar Sinclair; two sisters, Ida Faye Nichols and Ruby Joy Davis; and two brothers, Robert and Dorman Sinclair.
