Marilyn “ Sue” Frank Knight Ferrara, a resident of Baton Rouge, Louisiana passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 4, 2022. Sue was the only child born to Floyd E. and Viola Bickham Frank in New Orleans on August 20, 1939.
She was a 1957 graduate of Baton Rouge High where she enjoyed being a majorette. She received her Bachelors and Masters degrees from LSU in Education.
She married Charles Knight and was blessed with 3 children, Shari Knight Ferrara, Kara Knight Barger, and Charles Knight Jr. Later in life she met and married Peter “Pete” Ferrara, Sr. which added his children Julie F. and Tom Mautner, Susan F. and Brent Reed, Peter and Cindy Ferrara, and Ricky and Karen Ferrara. In their retirement years, Pete and Sue enjoyed square dancing and traveling across the country in their motorhome.
She is preceded in death by her husband Pete Ferrara and her parents Floyd and Viola B. Frank. She is survived by a sister in law, Ida Ferrara; children; Shari Ferrara and fiancée Phillip Moore, Kara and Barry Barger, Charles and Stacey Knight, Julie and Tom Mautner, Susan and Brent Reed, Peter and Cindy Ferrara, and Ricky and Karen Ferrara. Grandchildren; Bradley and Lacie Ferrara, Cory Ferrara, Cody and Amanda Lucas, Sydney and Greg Waters, Ethan Knight, Kelsea Knight, Eric Mautner, Laurie and Greg Holmes, Brian Mautner, Aaron Reed, Alexi and Dr. James Moore, Kacey and Nick Amorello, Douglas and Kate Ferrara, Emily Ferrara and Josie Foster, and many more great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers are Phillip Moore, Barry Barger, Cory Ferrara, Ethan Knight, Ricky Ferrara, Peter Ferrara and Cody Lucas.
A visitation for Sue will be held Friday, June 10, 2022 from 1:30 PM to 2:30 PM at Greenoaks Funeral Home, 9595 Florida Blvd, Baton Rouge, Louisiana 70815. A celebration of life will follow at 2:30 PM with interment to follow in Greenoaks Memorial Park.
