Thelma Mae Brown

Thelma was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and aunt.  She was native of Lottie and a longtime resident of Zachary, she passed away Tuesday, September 17, 2013 at Lane Regional Medical Center at age 89.  She was a homemaker and an accomplished seamstress.  Visiting will be at First Baptist Church, Zachary, Thursday, September 19, 2013 from 5 pm until 8 pm and Friday, September 20, 2013 from 9 am until religious services at 10 am conducted by Rev. Dr. David Womack. Active pallbearers will be Clint, Caden, Chance, Andrew, Randal, and Tommy Womack.  Honorary pallbearer will be Nathan Roose.  Interment will follow in Azalea Rest Cemetery in Zachary.  She is survived by her husband of 73 years, Terry B. Brown, three grandchildren, Tommy Womack and wife Diane, Randal Womack, and Johnna Roose and husband Nathan, nine great grandchildren, Clint, Collins, Caden, Clayton, Chance, Carter, Carson and Andrew Womack, and Brian Roose; and a sister in law, Mary Elizabeth Worsham.  Even though she and her husband had only one daughter, she was a caregiver and babysitter to dozens of nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and was known as "Mae Mae" by everyone.  She is preceded in death by her daughter, Terry Womack and her husband John A. Womack.  She was a member of First Baptist Church, Zachary, and a former longtime member of North Baton Rouge United Methodist Church.
