

Theodore Wayne Anthony, Sr. (Wayne), affectionately known as "Mr. A," "Papa," and "Lil' Bub," will be greatly missed. Wayne passed away peacefully in his home on Saturday, April 4, 2015, at 4:15 PM at the age of 93. He is now with his beloved wife and youngest daughter and his four brothers and sisters. Wayne lived his life to the fullest, firmly believing that "to rest is to rust" and that you should always "measure twice and cut once." He was known for his love and dedication to family and his hard work and service in his communities and church. He loved road trips, John Wayne movies, and any and all sweets. In his last years, he enjoyed listening to country music and singing along with the Gaither choir. Wayne was a native of Many, Louisiana, a graduate of Negreet High School, and retired from Schuylkill Metals after many years of dedicated service. He is survived by his son, Dr. Theodore (Ted) Wayne Anthony, Jr., Alexandria; daughter, Kathy Bernice Bullen, and son-in-law, Bernie Bullen, San Diego; granddaughter, Megan Ashley Embrey, Denver; great grandson, John Henry Kuykendall, Alexandria; and sister-in-law, Juanita (Nita) Anthony, Orange, Texas. He was preceded in death by his wife, Thelma Bernice Messer Anthony; daughter, Kim Susan Anthony Embrey; father, Charles Raymond Anthony and mother, Audrey Belle Miller Anthony; brother, Curtis Raymond (C.R.) Anthony; and sisters, Lela Belle Miller, Cybil Wood, and Irene McClain. Visitation will be held at Greenoaks Funeral Home, 9595 Florida Boulevard, on Thursday, April 9, 2015 from 5 PM until 8 PM. Graveside service will be held at Little Flock Baptist Church Cemetery 1805 Little Flock Road, Many, LA 71449 on Friday, April 10, 2015, at 3 PM. Wayne was a long-time donor to SmileTrain (SmileTrain.org) charities; any donations in his honor would be welcomed.
