"Theodore Joseph "T.J." Bourg died Friday, January 11, 2019 at his home surrounded by his family. He was 93 years old. He was born on July 11, 1925 to Cornelia Hebert Bourg and Clarence S. Bourg in Baton Rouge. He served in the Army during World War II and was stationed in the South Pacific, receiving two Bronze Stars for his service. He was a 1944 graduate of Catholic High School and life-long resident of Baton Rouge. He was a dedicated parishioner of Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church. He was preceded in death by his parents; his son, John Michael Bourg; two brothers Ervin and Clarence; and a sister, Sister Elizabeth of the religious order of the Immaculate Conception. T. J. had an ability to fix just about anything and he used this gift to serve his family all of his life. He is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Lorraine Metternich Bourg; a sister Martha Mae Bourg; five children, Robert Bourg and wife Kathy of Westcliffe, Colorado, Barbara Vierck, Janet Feig and husband John, Margaret Bordelon and husband Rick, Tom Bourg and wife Danna, all of Baton Rouge; ten grandchildren Amanda Vierck Hebert and husband Matt, Scott Vierck II and wife Amy, Jennifer Feig Thibodeaux and husband Eric, Geralyn Bordelon Siefker and husband Danny, Jamie Feig Browning and husband Michael, Jonathan Feig and wife Lauren, Ricky Bordelon, Rachel Vierck, John Michael Bourg and Nicholas Bordelon; 16 great-grandchildren and two nieces and one nephew. A visitation is scheduled Monday January 21, 2019 from 9:00 am until Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 am at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church, 445 Marquette Ave. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park.
