On May 24, 2014, surrounded by her family, Tess was called peacefully into the arms of her Lord. She was a devoted Christian, a loving daughter, a cherished mother, grandmother and sister. Every day she lived Tess was dedicated to giving her family and friends all of her love. Her laugh was infectious and brought happiness and joy to everyone. She graduated from Broadmoor High School, attended LSU, and retired from a career in customer service with Exxon Mobile. She is survived by her mother, Ann Simmons Pope, her husband Ronald Garon, her brother John Pope and his wife , Sally. She was blessed with three beautiful daughters, Shelley Richter Balderas and her husband Robert, Shanna Richter, and Londyn Pope, and one granddaughter, Emily Balderas. She was preceded in death by her father James Leon Pope, Jr. Visitation will be at Rabenhorst Funeral Home, 11000 Florida Blvd, Baton Rouge, on Thursday, May 29, 2014, From 10:00am to 1:00pm. Funeral services will be held at 1:00pm, with graveside service to follow at Greenoaks Cemetary on Florida Blvd. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations in her honor to St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
