Vera R. Cambre, a life-long resident of St. Gabriel and a native of Tangipahoa Parish passed away Saturday May 7, 2016 at age 88. Visiting will be Monday, May 9, at St. Gabriel Catholic Church from 1:00 pm until Mass of Christian Burial at 2:00 pm celebrated by Father Charles Landry. Entombment will follow in the church cemetery. She is survived by her daughter, Danielle Pace and husband, Mike; sons, Charles W. "Chuck" Cambre III and wife Beverly, R. Daryl Cambre and wife Suzanne, and Daniel P. Cambre; grandchildren, Melissa Allen, Charles W. "Charlie" Cambre IV, Michael Pace, Jr., and John Weld Cambre; and great grandchildren, Megan and Morgan Wilkes and Malia and Ava Cambre. Vera is preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Charles W. Cambre, Jr., and parents E.J. and Idee Stewart Robertson. Special thanks to Carretta Wilson for her tender loving care for the past six years. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
