

Violet "Vi" Ash Broes Anderson, loving mother and grandmother, passed away peacefully in her Denham Springs home surrounded by her family Monday, August 17, 2015, at the age of 85. Vi was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence Ameal Ash and Gladys Causey Ash; brothers, Bill, C.J., Cecil and Clovis Ash; sisters, Berti Nathan, Gladys "Cootie" Polk, and Alice Dours. Vi is also preceded in death by her first husband, Salvatore "Sal" Broes; and her second husband, Alton "Shot" Anderson. Vis is survived by one sister, Ruby Ricks; son, Sal Broes, Jr. and his wife Roxanne; daughter, Candi Broes; son, Johnny Anderson and his wife Debby; son, Richard Anderson and his wife Suzanne; daughter, Jana Kay Anderson Carley and her husband Richard; special friend, Dani Stablier; grandchildren: "Trey", John, Jordan, Aaron, Shelley, Shannon, Ben, Daniel, Alex, Nikolas and Lewis; and great-grandchildren: Jordan, Gabriel, Sofia, Anderson, Emily, Adam, David, Emma and Alton. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Vi was an accomplished artist in china, watercolor, oils and charcoal. She was also a long standing member of the local DAR chapter. She was a member of Greenwell Springs Baptist Church, and later, Florida Boulevard Baptist Church. Visitation for Vi will be at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd., on Friday, August 21, 2015, from 12 pm until funeral service at 2 pm, in the funeral home chapel, with Rev. Milford Walters and Dr. Dennis Johnsey officiating. Interment will follow at Masonic Cemetery in Clinton, LA.
