Virgie N. Gernant

A retired crime statistician with the Baton Rouge Police Department, she died at 5:15 p.m.Tuesday, March 13, 2007, at Our Lady of theLakeRegionalMedicalCenter. She was 41, a resident of Walkerand a native of Baton Rouge. Visitation at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd., was on Thursday, March 15, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Visitation at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church of Denham Springs on Friday from 10 a.m. until Mass of Christian Burial at noon, with the Rev. Vincent Dufresne, celebrant. Interment inGreenoaksMemorial Park. She is survived by her husband of 11 years, Fred M. Gernant Jr.; daughter, Cecile "Ceci" Gernant; son, Cameron Gernant; parents, L.J. and Cecile Dentro Nobles; sister, Bonnie N. Newgard and her fiancé, Brett Burns; and nephew, Jacob James Newgard. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Effie Nobles, Robert Nobles and Virgie and Randolph Dentro. Pallbearers will be Cameron Gernant, Jacob Newgard, Keith Amond, Terry Newgard, Todd Jones, Chuck Hunt, Barry Hunt and Brett Burns.
