
Virginia B. Jordan Robert passed away at home on December 12, 2014. Virginia Belle, as she was known to her family and friends in New Roads, Louisiana, was born to Belle Janis and Charles Kirkendahl Jordan on Thanksgiving Day, November 24, 1927. She was born and raised in New Roads, where her father had a weekly newpaper, "The Parish Courrier Journal." She was a graduate of Poydras High School in New Roads. La. She was also a graduate of Baton Rouge Business College. Virginia was preceded in death by her parents, Charles Kirkendahl Jordan and Belle Janis Jordan; sisters, Ernestine Jordan Post and Estelle Jordan Brousseau, Baton Rouge, La.; a sister, Camille Jordan Romans; and a brother, Charles Morgan Jordan, Houston Texas. She is survived by her husband, Thomas C. Robert, and a brother, Janis R. Jordan. She was a member of Our Lady of the Lake Hospital Auxiliary, Foundation for Historical Louisiana and Daughters of the American Revolution. Memorial donations may be made to the St. Vincent DePaul Society, American Cancer Society, and the American Heart Association. According to the wishes of the deceased, burial will be private for the family. Visitation will be held Tuesday at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church from 9:00 a.m. until the Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m., under the direction of Rabenhorst Funeral Home East.
