Vivian David “Gonnie GaGa” Pitslata was born in New Roads, LA, on February 22, 1926. Luke 23:43: He said to him, “Truly I say to you, today you shall be with me in Paradise.” Our beautiful Gonnie entered into Heaven’s Gate on Holy Thursday, April 14, 2022, at the young age of 96. She is survived by her devoted daughter and son-in-law, Theresa Frances and Emile Edwards; three grandchildren, Coach Bryan “Sid” Edwards (Beanie), Vicki “Tut” McInnis (Dean), and Lisa Hubbard (John); ten great grandchildren, Cody Edwards (Aimee), Delaney Alwosaibi (AJ), Chase and Jack Ryan Edwards, Haley LeBlanc (Trae’), Jeremy, Austin, and Nick McInnis, Peyton Hubbard (Haley), and Dylan Hubbard; three great-great grandchildren who were the light of her life, Jaxon Shaffer, her “Peanut”, Audriana Alwosaibi, her “Princess”, and Oakley LeBlanc, her “Queen”; and one “older” brother whom she loved so much, Francis “Noon” David. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralphael “Ralph” Pitslata; parents, Francis and Varicia David; in-laws, Tony and Frances Pasquale Pitslata; and siblings, Michael David, Zola Mae Fontenot, Edith Davila, and Diane Hebert. Gonnie was a shining light to all that knew her. She loved everyone, and everyone loved and adored her. Gonnie retired from Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center after 30 years of service. She was devoted to her Catholic faith, and that brings us so much comfort and joy knowing Gonnie entered Heaven during the most Holy week. Gonnie will always and forever be in our hearts. Always an angel on earth, she is now our angel in Heaven. We will count the days until we hear you once again say “how’s tricks.” Till we meet again, we love you, Gonnie, and will miss you terribly. Visitation for Gonnie will be held on Wednesday, April 20, at St. George Catholic Church (7808 St. George Dr, Baton Rouge), at 9 am until Mass of Christian Burial at 10. Interment to follow in the church mausoleum. Pallbearers will be her great grandsons. Special thanks to our sweet friends who helped us take care of Gonnie – Mrs. Sam Castle, Claudette, Angela, Nurse Katrina, and staff of the Hospice of Baton Rouge.
