
The perfect mother for three boys and wife for her late husband, Charles E. "Kink" Courtney Sr., Wanda passed away Wednesday evening, Nov. 14, 2007, after a short stay at Baton Rouge General Medical Center-Bluebonnet. She was born Wanda Dell Palmer on Feb. 9, 1930. Visitation at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd., on Friday, Nov. 16, was from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Visitation at the funeral home chapel on Saturday from 8 a.m. until religious service at 9 a.m., conducted by Dr. Richard Blue and the Rev. Keith Zachary. Interment in Walker Baptist Church Cemetery in Walker. Wanda is survived by her three sons, Charles E. Courtney Jr. and his wife, Lynn, James H. Courtney and his wife, Nancy, and Bret A. Courtney, D.V.M., of Many, and his wife, Tammy; five grandchildren, Kristi Courtney Watts, Mamie Courtney Taylor, Jamie Courtney, Taylor Courtney and Hayden Courtney; and two great-grandchildren, Kalyee Freiberger and Lily Kathryn Watts. She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Charles E. "Kink" Courtney Sr.; her parents, James Austin Palmer and Mamie Boyd Palmer; her sisters, Nenie Palmer and Geraldine "Jerry" Palmer Westbrook; a brother, James Austin Palmer Jr.; and a granddaughter, Sarah Courtney Freiberger. Pallbearers will be Richard Conrad, Tyrus J. Westbrook, Boyd Westbrook, Garrett Westbrook, Keller Watts and Zachary Taylor.
