

Warren E "Blump" Guedry Sr., 83, passed away on Thursday, Nov. 3, 2011, at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center. He was born Nov. 19, 1927, in St. Charles community, to Marguerite and Leon Guedry. He married his Thibodaux High School sweetheart, Ethel, and raised 10 very blessed children. He loved his family. He always supported and encouraged them and was very proud of their accomplishments. He was a carpenter and loved building things, especially his most recent passion of building crosses. He had a great sense of humor and loved talking to people. He enjoyed golf, gardening, taking trips to the casino, playing cards with his best friends, playing bingo on Saturday night and watching Redemptorist High School, LSU and Saints games. Warren is survived by his wife of 62 years, Ethel Constant Guedry; daughters and sons-in-law, Susan Hyland, Margie Huguet and Mike Sr., Liz and Wayne Barbin, and Mary and Lui Campos; sons and daughters-in-law, Jimmy and Ramona, Stanley and Patti, Warren Jr. and Debbie, Timmy and Lynn, Tommy and Mary, and Patrick and Alyssa; grandchildren and their spouses, Brandi and Josh Austin, Trey and Kasie Guedry, Mike and Rose Huguet, Joanne and Jake Legendre, Kerry and Delaney Huguet, Sheree and Patrick Gerald, Nick and Sarah Guedry, Sherri, LeeAnn, Erin, Corey, Ryan, Megan, Tayler, Christly, Dylan, Joshua, Sarah Katherine, Caleb, John Paul, Jessica, Ian and Zachary Guedry, Leeanna Britton, Matthew Hyland, Heather Blanchard, Brandon, Travis and Austin Gomez, Kelly Barbin, Kayla and Darian Campos and Jamie Harrington; and great-grandchildren, Bailey, Caden, Anna, Emme; Faith, Emma, Alyse, William, Kylie, Cameron, Alexa, Aden and Theija. Visitation at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church on Friday, Nov. 4, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Visitation resumes at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church on Saturday, Nov. 5, from 9 a.m. until recitation of the rosary at 10 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m., celebrated by the Rev. Mike Moroney. Interment will follow in Greenoaks Memorial Park. A special thanks to the staff of Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center for the care and concern given to him.
