

William "Bill" Allen Lane IV, 92, a resident of Baton Rouge and native of Texas, passed away Monday, Aug. 8, 2011, at Lakewood Quarters Assisted Living in Baton Rouge. Bill was a former deacon and member of Broadmoor Baptist Church in Baton Rouge. He also loved to fish and was talented in wood working. Visitation at Greenoaks Funeral Home on Friday, Aug. 12, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Visitation resumes at the funeral home Saturday, Aug. 13, from 9 a.m. until religious services in the funeral home chapel at 10 a.m. Interment in Greenoaks Memorial Park. Bill is survived by his wife of 64 years, Mary C. Lane; two sons, Glen and wife Renee Lane, and Keith Lane; grandchildren, Angela Parker, Clayton, Kayla and Daniel Lane; and great-grandchildren, Pierce Parker, Grant and London Lane. Bill was preceded in death by his father, William A. Lane III; mother, Martha C. Lane; and sisters, Elizabeth Coulter and Laura Lane. Bill was a engineering graduate of the University of Texas. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff of Hospice in His Care and also the staff of Lakewood Quarters Assisted Living for their loving care of their father and mother.
