

William H. Slusher, resident of Baton Rouge and native of Ashland, KY, passed away at his home surrounded by his family on Saturday, February 7, 2015 at the age of 81. William proudly served in the US Air Force and was a longtime Mason. He retired after working over 30 years at Borden Chemicals. He was very faithful and was a Deacon at First Baptist Church. William was funny and had a great personality. He was a huge Kentucky Wildcats fan and loved watching basketball games, “Go Big Blue!” William is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Joyce Slusher; sons, Randy Slusher and wife Pam, and Howie Slusher; grandchildren, Shannon Slusher, Garrett Slusher, Lauren Slusher, Christina Foster and husband Frank, and Erin Slusher; great grandchildren, Lane, Bryce and Rayburn Foster; sisters, Joyce Holbrook, Opal Kincaid, and Frances Shelton; brother, Paul Slusher; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents. A visitation will be held at Greenoaks Funeral Home on Monday, February 9, 2015 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Visitation will continue at the funeral home on Tuesday, February 10, 2015 from 9:00 am until the Funeral Service begins at 10:00 am. Interment will follow at Greenoaks Memorial Park.
